New Orleans is mine and my husband's favorite US city and this list couldn't have come at a better time, as we fly down tomorrow. Super bummed that Willie Mae's is closed for the time being but looking forward to enjoying every bite we shove in our faces for 4 days straight. Thank you!

We’re leaving for lunch at Dooky Chase right now. This is pretty timely! Super excited to hear about Angelos. My favorite thing so far this trip has been the bacon egg and cheese grits cup at the Bywater Bakery. It’s our first time and your opener about loving you with kicked in teeth or new penny shiny is so true.
Lisa, I couldn't agree more! New Orleans is foodie heaven as far as I'm concerned. Shoot, we met talking about the glorious grits dish (ideal for hangovers!) I copied from 'Live Oak's' Sunday brunch menu. You're so fortunate to have your son down there--no better reason to make it a frequent haunt.
